China’s ATL and BYD have initiated the mass production of Samsung's new 'Galaxy A' series battery.

According to the industry on the 29th, Samsung Electronics' Wireless Division plans to reveal The Galaxy A90, a low-end smartphone, on April 10th. It is the seventh release after the 'Galaxy A10 · 20 · 30 · 40 · 50 · 70'. ATL and BYD batteries will be installed in the products other than the Galaxy A90. Only Samsung Galaxy A90 will be supplied by Samsung SDI. This is the first time that two Chinese companies have supplied batteries simultaneously to Samsung's specific smartphone product line.

Last year, BYD was the first one to be named as a supplier of the battery for Galaxy J, a lower level version than Galaxy A. ATL supplies batteries to premium products like Galaxy S and has been supplying themfor mid- to low-end smartphones since the Galaxy Note 7 fire incident. It is a major supplier of batteries for wearable devices such as Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit.

The new Galaxy A series can respond to various markets in underdeveloped, developing, and developed countries. The specifications and functions have been divided finely. The Galaxy A10 and A20 will be equipped with two or three cameras with the 'Infiniti-V' display, while Galaxy A30 to A70 will be equipped with the Infiniti-U display and three to four cameras. There is a slight difference in application processor (AP), memory capacity, screen size, and battery capacity. For Galaxy A90, a zero-bezel display without the V · U · O digging out of the screen will be used. The camera is expected to rotate as a pop-up type.

Galaxy M is a low-end product line that integrates Galaxy J and Galaxy ON while actively utilizing Chinese battery makers in the new Galaxy A series, and it is expected to use the same strategy. In the past, Samsung Electronics received batteries from ITM and Almers (formerly Yongbo Engineering) for its low-end products.

Samsung Electronics plans to catch both sales and market share with low-end smartphones. At the 50th general shareholders' meeting held at the Seocho office in Seoul on the 20th, Ko Dong-jin, President of Samsung's Wireless Business Division, said, "We will maintain and secure the clear number one position in sales figures and sales volume in the Indian market this year."
