SK Telecom said on Sunday that it has invested US$100 million into US AI firm Anthropic.
The US startup was founded in 2021 by researchers that left OpenAI. It has developed chatbot Claude and has Google and Salesforce as investors.
SK Telecom is a strategic investor under their partnership and Anthropic will also collaborate with Global Telco AI Alliance.
The pair plans to develop large-scale language models and AI platforms.
The LLM will support Korean, English, German, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, and others.
Anthropic will provide finetune the LLM and provide optimized tools, while SK Telecom will sell Anthropic solutions in South Korea as a premier partner.
